Dr. Baumgartner joined Inotek as Chief Medical Officer in June 2007, overseeing all aspects of clinical development and medical affairs. He brings a deep background as a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician with significant experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology development. Before Inotek, he was the VP of Clinical Research and Therapeutic Area Head for Respiratory and Immunology at Sepracor Inc., where he successfully led the filing and approval of multiple NDAs, including two that the FDA approved in the first review cycle. His previous roles include Director of Clinical Research at Merck and post-doctoral research at the NIH, after completing his medical training at the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University.
